  • There might be any issues with the email settings, thus leading to Outlook Connect Error 10060.
  • Issues with the Authentication Settings of the system.
  • At times the Firewall of the system may be preventing thus leading to such errors.
  • Also sometimes, there can be a presence of malware or viruses in the system.

Fix 1: Verification of the Web Proxy Settings

At first before implementing the other procedures you can check and verify the Web Proxy settings of the connection. For that, go through the steps.

  • Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
  • Then in the box, you have to type “inetcpl.cpl” and then hit the Enter button to open the Internet Properties of the system.
  • When it opens, you now have to go to the Connection Tab.
  • Now scroll down and click on the LAN Settings.
  • Navigate to the option “Use a proxy for your LAN” and then unmark it. Click on the Ok button to save the modifications.

Furthermore, try to open the webpage again and check if the error is solved or not.

Fix 2: Increase the Time-out limit for loading the Websites by using the Registry

In this procedure, you need to make modifications to the Windows Registry section. Therefore to ensure there is no issue with the Registry of the Windows system, you have to take a backup of the Registry.

  • Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key + R key.
  • When the box opens. Type “regedit” and hit the Enter to open the Registry Editor.
  • Now you have to the navigate to the following;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Services > W3Proxy > Parameters.

  • Then you have to click on the “RequestTImeoutSecs” option, followed by a click on the “Modify” button.
  • Locate the Decimal option where you can modify the numbers, here you have to set the time for the website loading time. However, it suggested you have to set the number ranging from 180 or more.
  • Once the modifications are done, click on Apply and then on Ok to save the changes. Lastly, you have to reboot the PC and check if everything is stable after the registry editing.

Alternate Method:

  • Once the Registry Editor opens, you have to go to the following;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Services > Tcpip > Parameters.

  • Then right-click on it and select the Edit menu. From there you have yo click on the Add Value option, and add the following value;

“Value Name: TcpMaxDataRetransmissions”

“Value Type: REG_DWORD – Number”

“Valid Range: 0 – 0xFFFFFFFF”

“Default Value: 5 Decimal”

“New Value: 10 Decimal”

  • Once the modifications are done, click on Apply and then on Ok to save the changes. Lastly, you have to reboot the PC and check if everything is stable after the registry editing.

Fix 3: Check Email Client Settings

If you see Outlook Connect Error 10060 in your system, then you have to check the Email Client settings. Also, you have to make some changes.

  • Launch the Microsoft Outlook, then go to the Tools section.
  • In the Tools section, you will see the Account section, click on it to open.
  • On the next window, locate the Mail tab, open it. After that, a list of all the accounts will be shown. Find your account and double-click on it.
  • Then, it will open the Account Properties section, click on the Servers tab. In this window, you have to verify all the details of the account.
  • Check if all the client settings are correct or not.

Although if all the client settings are correct then nothing to worry about, however, if you see any problem with the Client settings then you have to modify it.

  • From the Account Properties, open the Server tab, locate the “My server requires authentication” option and mark it. Lastly, click on the Ok button to save the settings.

If you are a Windows Live Mail user, then you can go through the following instructions.

  • Launch the Windows Live Mail, then go to the Account option.
  • In the next window, open the Advanced tab and then to the General tab. Now check if all the proper settings are marked or not.
  • Lastly, click Apply and Ok to save the modifications.

Additional Methods You can implement to Fix the Connect Error 10060:

There are a few more methods that you can follow to fix the Connect Error 10060.

  • Disable the Firewall:

According to many users, once they have disabled the firewall it has solved the issue. Therefore to disable the Firewall, you have to go to the Settings menu, from there go to Windows Defender >  Privacy > Firewall, then disable it. If you are using any third-party antivirus, launch the application and disable it from the settings menu of the antivirus.

  • Scan for Malware or Virus:

As mentioned above this occurs due to the presence of malware or virus in the system, so you can perform a full scan of the system. Launch the Antivirus and then click on the Full Scan option. Wait until the scanning is complete.
