Basically, this error occurs if one or more data files are corrupted or has failed in the process of compatibility check.

But not only that, but the issue of Windows 10 Kernel Security Check Failure can also happen due to incompatible memory allocation, virus infection, or some other problems. But it is observed that users are facing this error more on the new update of the Windows 10 operating system.

So if you are having the Kernel Security Check Failure over and over again and constantly facing the Blue screen of Death on your display, then this topic will definitely help you to remove the Windows 10 Kernel Security Check Failure from your system.

What causes Kernel Security Check Failure Windows 10?

In this section, we will discuss the various ways to fix the Kernel Security Check Failure on your Windows 10 operating system.

But before that, let me list down some of the major reasons that lead to this problem.

  1. The conflict between the installed software
  2. Memory allocation issues
  3. Virus Infection or serious malware threats
  4. Outdated installed drivers or incompatible drivers
  5. Corrupted system files
  6. A severely damaged or corrupted hard disk

Now that you know what problems lead to the Kernel Security Check Failure problem, so let us discuss some solutions that can fix this problem right away.

Solution 1: Remove all the removable peripherals and Check for any necessary connections

Whenever a Windows 10 operating system restarts, the first thing it does is connect the system to all the peripherals you have connected before. Now if the system is unable to connect to all the peripherals then it might give the Kernel Security Check Failure issue.

So in order to fix the issue follow the below-mentioned steps.

Step 1:

First, you need to completely shut down your system(if not already shut down). In some situations, you might need to hard shut down the system by long-pressing the power button.

Step 2:

Now check all the ports of your system including the disk drives, USB ports, Headphone port, memory card slots. Make sure that nothing is connected with your system(except for monitor, mouse, and keyboard in case you are using a desktop system).

Step 3:

After you have removed all the external devices from your system, now check the connecting wires of the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Check the connections from end to end and make sure that there is no loose connection.

In case you are using a wireless mouse then check the batteries properly or change them if needed. Just make sure of the fact that anything connected to your system has a stable and uninterrupted connection.

Step 4:

If you are still having the Kernel Security Failure Check error then open your CPU box and check the connections of the RAM Sticks and the Hard Drive. But keep one thing on your mind that only open your CPU box if you are comfortable with your system.

Otherwise, you might end up making the situation much worse. So it is highly recommended that only carry out this step if you know all the internal stuff about your system, otherwise, just call a professional.

Step 5:

Now again restart your system and check whether the issue is gone or not. If not, then continue to the next solution.

Solution 2: Run an Advanced System Repair Application

Just like mentioned above, incompatible drivers, corrupted Windows Installation files or corrupted Windows 10 registry files can be a reason for the Kernel Security Failure Check error. Well to solve these problems you can run an advanced system repair application. There is an application called Restoro.

This application can help you to cope with the above-mentioned problems can fix the Kernel Security Failure Check issue. The restoro application can search for any kind of driver updates and will automatically upgrade the outdated drivers.

In the Restoro application, there is also an option as a corrupt file checker. This option will allow the application to look for any kind of malware or virus present on your system. The application also has the ability to solve the hidden problems of your system.

Solution 3: Reboot your system into Safe mode

If none of the above steps is working then try to reboot your system into safe mode. Now in the safe mode, you need to carry out some steps in order to fix the Kernel Security Failure Check error.

You can perform a safe boot by normally rebooting your system or by using an external bootable USB drive. But try to avoid going into Safe mode by hard rebooting your system.

So in case you are going to the safe mode then it is highly recommended that you only follow the below-mentioned steps otherwise you might face some new issues.

Step 1:

Turn on your system and press the power button for some time. You will see that after a few seconds your system will shut down. Now carry out this procedure three times before the system loads and lead you to the Blue Screen of Death.

Step 2:

Now a screen will appear on your display saying “Preparing Automatic Repair”. At this point, the Windows itself will try to solve the Kernel Security Failure Check issue. After this process, if you see that the Blue Screen of Death problem then does not need to proceed any further.

Step 3:

So if the above step fails to solve your problem then you got only two options left. Either “Restart” or “Advanced Options”. Here, choose the “Advanced Options” and click on the “Startup Settings”.

Step 4:

In the “Startup Settings” window you will find only one option and that is “Restart”. After you Restart your system you can choose any option you like.

But no.

From that list options choose “Enable Safe Mode”. Now at this point keep one thing in mind that once you restart your system in safe mode it will be redirected to the normal mode.

Step 5:

At this point in the process, you are going to need a USB drive. The USB drive is needed to reboot your system into safe mode. This step will work best if you are having another computer. That means it will be much easier if you make your USB bootable on another computer.

But still, it is totally fine if you do not have any other computers. You can still insert your USB drive into the affected system. That is why first you need to get into safe Mode with system networking.

So as per to reboot your system in Safe mode with networking, press the “Windows” and “R” key together. Then in the command prompt dialogue box type in “msconfig”(without any question mark) and hit “enter”.

Step 6:

Upon pressing enter a new window will open on your display. From the top of that box choose the “boot” tab. Now from the newly opened window check on the safe boot box and make sure that the box beside Network is also checked.

Now after you press the enter, a new window will open on your display. Here you will get two options: “Restart” and “Exit without Restart”. From here choose the first option and restart immediately.

Step 7:

Still, If you see that the Kernel Security Failure Check error has not left your computer then buddy you are going to need a USB drive and another computer to make the USB bootable. And if you are a USB to fix this error then you have to redo step 6 all over again.

Only this time uncheck all the boxes which you have checked in the previous procedure. Now when the system gives you the two options, you choose “exit without restart”.

Step 8:

So as said before as per to make your USB bootable you are going to need another computer. Here the first thing you need to do is find out whether your system is a 32 bit or 64 bit. Also, you need to find out which version of the language your computer is using.

Next, you need to reboot your affected system and start the Windows set up procedure from that bootable pen drive.

[Note: To make the USB drive bootable you can use any kind third-party application like ”Rufus”.]

After this step, you will get completely new windows 10 operating systems on your system. If this step works then the Kernel Security Check failure issue will be removed from your system.

Solution 4: Uninstall Programs

Once you are into your system via Safe Mode, the first thing you need to do is uninstall every kind of applications you have recently installed. Sometimes newly installed software do not compatible with each other and creates the Kernel Security Failure Check issue.

It will also be a great help if you uninstall all the software that you don’t actually need. You can carry the whole uninstalling procedure from the control panel of your desktop. Try this step and see if the Blue Screen of Death is still coming or not.

If it is still coming then move forward to the next step.

Solution 5: Stop Overclocking

If you do not have any idea about Overclocking and what it does then don’t bother and just skip this step. There are very processors available in the market which can handle an overclocking.

But still, if you have ever at any point in time have downloaded any Overclocking software then remove it right away from your computer.

Solution 6: Update Windows

Not only to fix the Kernel Security Check issue but for the proper regular working of your computer, you need to keep your Windows operating system all the time.

Another reason to keep your operating system updated is that sometimes the older version of Windows creates problems and that might be the reason for your Blue Screen of Death Issue.

Updating the Windows operating system is very simple. There is already an option in the settings section from where you can check whether your Windows need an update or not.

Solution 7: Update or Uninstall the Installed Third-party Software

Just like every other system users, you must have installed some sort of third party software on your system. But it is necessary to check the compatibility of that software before installing it into your system.

Otherwise, this software to system incompatibility problems can lead to issues like Kernel Security Check Failure. Sometimes people do not trust the Windows Defender (the Security Application from Microsoft) and install some third-party antivirus software.

These Antivirus software sometimes clash with the inbuilt security system and can lead to a Blue Screen of Death. So if you are having some third party that is of no use then just uninstall the software right away. But if you really need those third party software then at least keep them updated.

In the End

As mentioned earlier, the Kernel Security Check Failure or Kernel Security Check Failure Windows 10 whatever you say is a very common problem among the users of the Windows Operating system.
