The Seven-Sins of Websites Designing: You Might Be Making

Website Designing is a tricky thing. It needs patience, creativity, and intelligence. You just cannot create a web page and sit back and relax. You need to develop responsive website which will be your 24-hour salesperson.

Get this fact straight that website designing is work of challenge and it needs time. A lot of time. But there are several mistakes that can happen while designing a website. Developers and designers are human beings too. So it is not always to create and design a perfect website that will get a lot of traffic.

That is why today in his blog, we will be talking about seven such deadly sins or rather can be called mistakes that developers sometimes make and how to create responsive website by identifying the mistakes. These sins or mistakes can sometimes hurt your website and you might face some real difficulties.

Before starting the topic I want to give you a short introduction of web designing and how it looks from the perception of developers.

Web Designing- Quick Intro

You use the internet every day and see lots of cool stuff. And I bet that you have a list of favorite websites that you visit every day. We all believe in what we see. All the beautiful websites we see every day is the result of the day and night hard-work of web designers.

Web designing is a huge subject. A web designer is responsible for creating an attractive appearance, layouts, and contents of a website.

Web Designing is not a one man job. Big organizations and companies have a team of web designers who works very hard to make a presentable website.

The Seven-Sins of Websites Designing

As now you have an idea of what web designing is, we can now discuss the seven-sins or mistakes of web designing and how to create responsive website.

7. Lack of Quality Content

It is a good thing that your website looks good with less content and more design. But here the problem is the lack of quality content. There are some websites that provide such a kind of content that is not even relevant to the theme or the website.

Your content should represent your website. Content is the only you can show who you are, what your website does and what service your website provides.

Good content can be advantageous in several ways and can benefit your website. Contents can bring a lot of traffic to your website.

6. Non-Responsiveness

Research has shown that from 2016, mobile websites get more organic traffic than compared to desktops and laptops. So if your website does not believe in responsive to the visitors then you are a lot behind in the race.

If you fail to build a responsive website then you are missing out on a huge chunk of organic traffic.

And trust me you don’t want this to happen with your website.

So if you think that you are not getting what you expected then call your web designer and tell him to make your website more responsive

5. Impersonal

People love to hear stories and tend to visit those websites that contain faces of human beings in them. Proving a service through a website is a matter of trust. There are websites that contain a very monotonous design.

All they have is huge paragraphs of content. Now that’s a real problem as you don’t want to bore your reader. The more you tell about yourself and what you provide in an interactive way the more are chances you get a huge amount of organic traffic.

But you have to keep in mind that you don’t share too much because it can scare away some prospective clients. Therefore simply putting an image of a person or even yourself can improve your website in a lot of ways.

4. Too much Jargon

It is not possible to always have the best readability, but if you think that your website lacks good readability then you can try to change it.

Now jargon is everywhere, from sections like privacy policy and terms and services conditions to content. Jargons really don’t help much, rather they mess things up.

You don’t know what types of readers your website is getting every day. Therefore it is recommended to keep things simple.

3. Non-clear Call To Action (CTA)

Now, this is a must-have for a service website. But the problem is not that websites do not have CTAs but they are not clear for a new visitor.

Every website should provide a loud and clear CTA like the navigation elements, otherwise, there is no point in visiting that website.

CTAs acts as live support for the visitors and it also helps to hold a visitor and transform them into a loyal consumer. But there are also some websites which contain too many CTAs. Now that can be really confusing and you may lose some valuable traffic.

2. Long Webpages

People have a habit of finding the shortest solution to every problem. The same thing applies for websites too. It is a basic fact that longer your content lesser the traffic you get because long content can bore a reader and can imply a negative impact on your website.

Information that you provide should be to the point and should contain true facts. People do not like to scroll much on a single page. So try to keep your webpage compact and informative.

1. Dead Links

Dead links can harm your website SEO. Dead links like page errors or link errors can hamper you from getting valuable organic traffics.

It can also restrict your website from organic listings on search engines like Google. You don’t want your visitor to land on a webpage that says 404-page not found.

Finally…

So I think that now you know how to identify sins of website designing and how to create responsive website. Each and every sin point is well researched and very much true in the real world. (you can relate to them if you are a website designer or you own a website).

I hope that this blog will help you identify the loopholes of your website and present a better website to your visitor.
